Photos
This page has all the photos I have taken for this project on them. I will say a little bit about each set of photos.
I took these photos from a multi storey car park in Basingstoke. These were a first attempt at the technique. They didn't go very well. I think the problem with these photos was that they weren't taken from far away enough. The effect will only work when the photo is taken from a great enough distance. As we can see, this wasn't enough. I would have liked to have a good shot with a building similar to the church in. The architecture could have made for an interesting subject. Unfortunately for me, there weren't any good places to take a shot like this from.
Another set of photos I did. Also from on top of a multi storey car park, the ones at the top worked quite well for tilt shift style shots. The rest of the photos were just experiments I did to see what they looked like. Unfortunately, as with the shots in the last set, these weren't taken from far away and didn't work very well. Some like the shots of the yellow and blue buildings were taken from the wrong angle.
All of these shots were taken on the hill above Portsmouth. With this set, I was trying to get some interesting shots of The city's skyscrapers but unfortunately I was just too far off. I tried to turn some of them into tilt shift shots but they were not at all interesting. The photos were too dull. One of the good things about tilt shift is that it can be used on shots where there isn't a particular focal point, But in this case there really wasn't anything interesting about these shots. As we have seen from the pictures above, you can be too close to the subject for the tilt shift affect to work. And in this case you can also be too far away!
This set of photos were taken in London. I was looking for places to take some good shots for a tilt shift style. Unfortunately, I couldn't get high enough with these, and none of them worked very well as tilt shift style photos.
